Clarks High Heel Society

People, how do you fancy an evening filled with Clarks shoes, canapes and champagne? At a top London hotel. Personally, as a comfy shoe-loving, bon viveur - kind of like Patsy Stone in flats - I can't think of a better way to spend my time. So, on Thursday 22 March 2012, fifty lucky guests can win the chance to meet some style experts (that's me, and a couple of other esteemed bloggers) who'll be talking spring/summer shoes, providing personal styling tips and an exclusive preview of Clarks latest collection. Sounds good doesn't it? I'd enter myself if I wasn't going to be there already.

My favourite go-anywhere footwear at the moment is the Clarks' Yarra desert boot, a perennial classic, I wear all the time. But on the big night, I may very well be sporting a pair of these gorgeous lace-ups, all gold and shiny like an Oscars statuette (hooray for 82-year-old Christopher Plummer and for Meryl Streep  - she looked lovely in Lanvin. I should have known The Artist would nab all the top prizes). I've had them in my sights for a while now. They're not high heeled, I know, but this Society is all-inclusive. Low heels allowed. And I'm fond of the cropped trouser and flat shoe arrangement.

So, if you'd like to come along to this fabulous event at the Metropolian Hotel, please enter the competition here. All entrants will receive 20% off the spring/summer collection and all guests will receive a luxury goody bag and a free pair of Clarks shoes. The top prize is a night at the Metropolitan Hotel, a full spa treatment and dinner at Michelin-starred, Nobu restaurant.

Good luck!

I wished I lived in London and could come ! I'm unfortunately old enough to have been wearing the original desert boots in my youth but these gold derbies look really good !

Oh, how sad that I live across the pond! Sounds like a wonderful event, and I love me some Clark's shoes. Have fun!

Hah, so funny that we both have posted about shiny shoes on the same date.
The Clarks, not at all to my liking though. Too masculine, once again (;

Love those gold brogues in the picture. Clarks has really upped their style in the last couple of years.

Yayyy!
You see my feet? They look good, don't they? These are 72 year old, happy feet.
You know why?
I DON'T WEAR HEELS!

Haven't worn heels since 1990
when I had back trouble.

When I first tried on a pair of Clarks, over 20 years ago, I was alone in the aisle, but I blurted out ecstatically, "OOOOOhhh, that is like sex for the foot." From the neighboring aisle, I heard a desperate cry, "What is? Where is it?" Of course, when later that year by baby sister was having trouble with her feet after a pregnancy, I insisted that her feet needed sex, and they fit, and went to live on her feet. I have always cherished my feet.

That is bronze, isn't it? I should suggest to the makers of MBT's that they put on a bronze sandal, too. This year they had a delightful red sandal out for Valentine's day, and I insist my sister get the PIA, since I have physically seen it this week. She has my first pair of sandals, and now I three additional pairs, and some slip-ons coming in the mail tomorrow. We like to keep moving in style and comfort without getting exhausted. As Grandmother used to say, "I don't care if you have a full-length Black Gama Mink, if you can't walk pretty, you are not attractive." I would say, you are ugly with four 'u's, if you don't take care of your feet. Better to take care of grandchildren and have fun, then to be stuck in the car resting.

Kathy - I'll see if I can find out about availability and get back to you.

NadineisthatU - love your grandma's quote and I'm going to use it!
